I listened to Recorded Books performance of this book. I am rating it 3 stars and declaring that "I like it" according to GR's rating system only because of the unique world of Elantris and the shaod. However, much of this book dragged. It was definitely too long, the political intrigue was not unique, the gender issues were just way overdone, and there was too much of this story. I thought alof of the story was predictable. I ended up listening to it on 2X speed just to finish it. I can't say that I would recommend this book.
