I could not get attached to the characters int his book. My main issue was I felt like an outside observer and I felt like there was no emotion, that it was told more like a news story. The only time I felt attached to the story was re the little sister issue. But wow, did this lady have a life! Very interesting inside view on ranch life and life pre-1940s. I loved the historical side and the details of how it was and how it was for a woman at that time that wanted more and actively tried to get it.
